U3A SOCIAL BOWLS
University of the 3rd Age – Learn to play Bowls.
The term University is used in the original and medieval sense of an association or community of like-minded scholars, pursuing shared interests under the guidance of a ‘tutor‘ who may well learn as much as he/she imparts. There are no exams and no homework, just the joy of learning.
Third Age refers to the life period of active retirement. A time of creativity and learning for older people, which follows the first age of childhood and formal education and the second age of working life, and which precedes the fourth age of dependence. U3A Pine Rivers offers a comprehensive range of activities. Full details can be found here.
Samford District Bowls Club proudly supports U3A Pine Rivers with Bowls activities each Tuesday Morning. Play is under the shade covers and volunteer club members are on hand to provide coaching. Club bowls are provided, although you are welcome to bring your own bowls. Bowls club uniforms are not required; however, flat sole shoes are mandatory.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the game of Bowls and meet and make new friends. Morning tea is provided.
